Here’s a quick marketing tip: Set up a Google Business Profile!
It’s pretty basic, not that fun, but it’s extremely important. You want customers to find you on Google. Businesses bid crazy money to be at the top of search results as a “sponsored” result.
Setting up a Google Business Profile literally puts you on the map. Your company can be the top of the page (below the sponsored results) and get there for free. If I search “graphic design chicago”, Google will return the paid results at the top and the location results right below that! You can be the first organic listing on Google if someone uses a location like “Chicago” as search term.
Hopefully, you have already done this, but it’s a no-brainer if you haven’t. You will need to confirm your location with Google and make sure you claim your business for yourself.
Personally, I tend to avoid “sponsored” results. Organic results feel more genuine. I know someone didn’t pay for my click.
Of course the next step is to get some 5 star reviews which will put you even further above the competition.
