Drink Different	We opened The Bottle Shop to take wine back from the mass marketers, mega-critics, and super stores. Good wine has little to do with numerical ratings,  top 100 lists, or the techno-babble of wine jargon. The very thing that makes wine special gets lost when it's placed on a pedestal and locked away in trophy cabinets. We say open it up and let the wine speak for itself.
Think Small	We represent small, artisan wineries which pass below the radar of the big chains and national importers. We are drawn to hand-made, un-manipulated, balanced wines, made by real people from real places. We are working with a small group of independently-owned, importers, brokers, and wholesalers who share these beliefs and who are thrilled to find a dedicated retail partner in Chicago. Small does not mean expensive, either. Our average bottle price is $15.00 a bottle.
Buy Right	Because we choose to work with small wineries, our capital isn’t tied up in inventory. Our prices are fair by the bottle and positively low by the case. We work with wineries that spend their money on winemaking rather than marketing. Although we specialize in finding affordable wines from small producers that are not available in the big chain stores or supermarkets, we will also carry classified Bordeaux, cru Burgundies, Barolos, Brunellos, as well as, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Cabernet from some of the new world's most acclaimed wineries and wine makers.
Keep It Simple	We offer shipping, free delivery to your door, your basement or cellar and we help tote purchases to your car. We also offer complimentary gift wrapping. Shop by phone or in person. We have created a warm, open space to taste and talk. No narrow aisles, buzzing fluorescent lighting, or squeaky shopping carts. We think wine shopping should be easy, uncomplicated, and gratifying.
