Arts & Crafts—The resort offers supervised arts and crafts daily for children and adults still young at heart. This gives our resident campers and guests the opportunity to meet one another in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Craft time will be split into two age groups. Crafters ages 4-8 meet 11:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. This hour will be split up into three 20 min. periods; craft, story time, and outside activities. Group two, for children ages 9 and up will meet from 3:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. This set of crafts is geared toward more independent campers. Some of our arts & crafts include tie-dye, homemade chalk, kites, make-your-own cola, and casting foot prints in the sand.
Pizza Night—Make life a little easier on Friday night. Don’t worry what’s for dinner! Lakeside Cabins offers pizza, salad, and drinks every Friday evening at 6:00p.m. All you can eat/drink $5 for Adults $3 for Kids.
B-I-N-G-O—Who doesn’t like prizes? Join us at the pavilion every Saturday at 6:00p.m. for a few rounds of Bingo. Donations of new or lightly used movies, board games, and toys as prizes are always welcome!
Bonfire & Smores—Bring your favorite ghost stories and sit around the community fire pit. At 7:30p.m. every Saturday the resort staff will light the fire. Bring your smores ingredients and find a stick. Don’t worry if you forget yours, there is always enough to go around.
Summer Fever Weekend—May 26-28: Why not start your summer vacation a little early? There will be field day games, sand pile, and inflatable jumpy game all weekend. Sunday, join us for our Memorial Weekend cookout.
Family Fun Weekend—June 2-3: Come spend some quality time painting portraits of your family for arts and crafts and jump in on a game of Family Frisbee Golf or sign up for the Family Shuffleboard Competition. At 1p.m. on Saturday we are having a super fun fire safety program with Smokehouse.
Sports Mania Weekend—June 9-10: Join us in a friendly game of H-O-R-S-E, pool volleyball, free-throw competition, and the big wiffle ball game. After activities, get ready to dress your dog (hot dog that is) with all of your favorite fixings at our hot dog roast.
Bring a Friend Weekend—June 16-17: Bring a friend to show him or her how much fun you have at Lakeside Cabins Resort. Participate in group crafts like friendship bracelets and splatter tees. Saturday night we’re having a Pajama Party! Come lounge in the lodge for movies and popcorn. We haven't forgot about the Adults! Join the fun with our annual wine tasting tour at 11 am on Saturday.
Campout Weekend—June 23-24: We’re breaking all the rules for one weekend and going camping in the “Back 40”, so bring your tents and flashlights. Be ready to build your fire pits during craft time. We will have a nature scavenger hunt during the day and “Tales from the Cabins” around the fire. Also, at 1 pm on Saturday, there will be a Naturalist hosting guided Nature tours!
Patriot Weekend—June 30-July 1: Bring out the red, white, and blue. Celebrate the 4th of July at Lakeside Cabins. Plan on chalking the sidewalk, carnival games, and a bike parade! The cookout will be held on Saturday.
Art Weekend—July 7-8: Show off your inner artist. We will have classes on photography, painting, and more throughout the day. Come perfect your skills or learn something new.
Mardi Gras Weekend—July 14-15: Beads Galore! Come make your own Mardi Gras mask in crafts, dress to impress for our crazy costume contest. Don’t forget to save room for the Gumbo Cook-off and beignets (powdered donuts for us northerners) on Saturday.
New Years in July—July 21-22: Happy New Year! Celebrate the New Year all over again with your friends at LCR. We’ll have a gift exchange; you must bring a gift to get a gift. The progressive dinner will be hosted by each section i.e.: appetizers in the A section, salads in the B’s, etc. This is a great way for all of us to get to know one another.
Water Weekend—July 28-29: Everything water! Water balloons, water games, pool challenges, experiments with water. Be sure not to miss out on this……featuring singer/songwriter Michael Beans. There will be a pirate show for kids and a Saturday evening performance at the pool. You won’t be left high and dry this weekend!
Fear Factor Weekend—Aug. 4-5: Take the Gross Challenge! Do you dare take the taste test? Chocolate covered ants and a slimy slip n’ slide sound fun to you? Get ready for a totally wacky weekend!
Luau Weekend—Aug. 11-12: No Hawaiian shirt, no grass skirt, no service. This is one great party! Join us for limbo, piñata, and decorating the resort. There will be a pig roast and a band at the pool on Saturday. Don't forget to end this perfect day at the Ship & Shore festival in New Buffalo, MI. There will be great things to do for all!
Wild West Weekend—Aug. 18-19: Put on your cowboy boots, this weekend is dedicated to the Old West. Horse Shoe Tournament, Pony Rides, and Texas Hold ‘em Tournament.
Beach Weekend—Aug. 25-26: Bring your sunscreen and a towel, this weekend we are going to the beach. Warren Dunes that is! Also plan on casting your feet in the sand for crafts!
Heritage Weekend—Sept. 1-2: We are holding our annual last blast of the summer party on Sunday with a cookout and band. Be festive and bring a dish or drink that represents your nationality or favorite country. This will also be our end of the year Shuffleboard Tournament.
